Back to Da Grind, eh?

So today was my first day back at work after five days off and a funeral. I'm not sure I was completely emotionally prepared to deal with people that anger me. I was in a rotten mood most of the day, especially when some guy called on the phone and said "I want a smoothie." I had a couple of people in line, so I asked him to hold for a moment. Took care of the people, came back, and he still didn't know what kind of smoothie he wanted. (I'm big on the 'please' and 'thank you' thing, so he'd already set me off.) Anyhow, I don't want to go off about that.

I DO want to go off about the crazy guy who tried to kill me with his car. Out of nowhere, on a back country road on my way home from the bank, this psycho going 70 MPH starts passing me in a no-passing zone, slams on his brakes in front of me, weaves in and out of the yellow line and white line, zooms up to the next intersection, then slams on his brakes, turning his car sideways, and starts yelling at me out his window halfway into the intersection. I rolled down my window, and he screamed some profanity at me, accusing me of pulling out in front of him (I did not do so). I was not going to argue with this dude, as he looked like he probably had an arsenal in his back seat, so I apologized to him, followed him at a far distance, and called 911 to report him. Hope he was as drunk as I think he was, and that they caught him.

I'm watching Parenthood, the new TV series, and it is fantastic. I am completely invested in all of the characters already. It's based on the old movie with Steve Martin, Rick Moranis, Tom Hulce, Jason Robards, Martha Plimpton, Joaquin Phoenix (Leaf back then, before he changed his name to the more rolling-off-the-tongue "Joaquin"). LOVE it. Can't wait to see more.

I've been reading! Yes, I have. I'm almost, almost, almost done with "Under the Tuscan Sun", a bit further in "The Inhuman Condition", and halfway through "Forever Fifteen" which sttiiiiiiiinks. More on all of that later.

I'm too unfocused and tired to write more, so I'll sign off for tonight. Back soon!
